Sunlight is a Melodic Heavy/Power Metal band, formed in 2009 in Athens, Greece, as a Hard Rock and Heavy Metal project.
Their 2011 EP, "Rockin’ All Around", earned enthusiastic responses in Greece and enjoyed a warm reception in Japan, where it was distributed by Rock Stakk Records. This debut release previewed three tracks from their forthcoming full-length album, "My Own Truth". Released worldwide in 2015 by Total Metal Records, a division of Metal Scrap Records Inc., the album achieved critical acclaim and fuelled successful tours across Europe. The video-clip for the song “My Own Truth” was presented a few weeks before the release-date.
Transitioning to a Melodic Heavy/Power Metal style, Sunlight entered Devasoundz Studios in June 2019 to record their second album, "Son Of The Sun", under the guidance of Fotis Benardo. Despite facing challenges from the pandemic and line-up changes, the album was completed in December 2023. To maintain momentum in the meantime, the band presented a video cover of Deep Purple’s classic “Child in Time”.
The new album was announced October 15, 2024. It was introduced by two Singles: “Forever Lost”, including lyric video (November 8), and “Son Of Fire” (November 22). The album was officially released worldwide on December 6, 2024 via Total Metal Records.
Now, with a revitalized line-up and a new album, Sunlight are ready for a compelling return to the stage, unveiling their evolved sound.
