Initially founded as a solo project by guitarist/vocalist/ lyricist-songwriter César Márquez in 2006, Bauda takes their influence, both musically and lyrically, from the great landscapes of their homeland Chile to create some mesmerising music that merges beautiful progressive melodies with dark cinematic ambiences.

Márquez have previously recorded an EP entitled “Del Mar Al Aire” in 2006 and a full-length album “Oniirica” in 2009 with the help of session musicians.

It was only in 2012 that Bauda have grown into a fully lined-up group, when Márquez recruited Nikolas Recabarren for drums and Juan Díaz for bass guitar, who proved to be the exact components needed to create the power and beauty behind second full-length “Euphoria… Of Flesh, Men and The Great Escape".

In 2013, Edgardo González joined the band as keyboard player and the band starting working on their third album, “Sporelights”.

The band’s next step was inviting René Rutten from Dutch alternative rock band The Gathering to produce their new album and the result of this wonderfully collaborative effort that lasted for nearly two years, is an astonishing nine-song album that once again confirms their flexibility and talent for crafting powerful, intimate and poignant music.

Representing a confident progression from its predecessor “Euphoria…”, “Sporelights” may prove to be another career highlight for this still evolving group from Santiago do Chile.

The sound images are fused with landscapes, textures, surfaces of Chile in different shades and styles of music, either post rock, folk, ambient, dark, finally alternative rock.
