Solitary formed in June 1994 and signed to UK label Holier Than Thou Records in 1997, they made their first appearance on the HTT compilation “Genetically Fresh”. May the following year Solitary record “Nothing Changes”, which was released in November 1998.

2008 Solitary released their second full length album “Requiem”, over a four-year period fraught with personal highs and lows. “Requiem” contains a guest vocal appearance from Chris Astley of 80’s Thrashers Xentrix on the track “Hatred” the CD also has cover of Testament’s “Into the Pit”.

In 2017 Solitary released a new studio album “The Diseased Heart Of Society” is so much more than ‘just another album’. It represents the complete rebirth of one of the UK’s most enduring thrash metal outfits and sets new standards in the process.

Heading into 2018 there was no let up for Solitary. The band signed with Dutch label Doc Records, with the first fruits of this new arrangement being the release of a special 20th Anniversary edition of Solitary’s debut album, Nothing Changes. Remastered and with some bonus demo tracks Nothing Changes saw Solitary back in the press spotlight again.

In January 2020 they returned to Foel Studios, with Simon Efemey once more at the helm. German label Metalville, home to rock legends like Lee Aaron, Ugly Kid Joe and Foghat saw the huge potential in the new Solitary album and were quick to sign the band up.
