Somewhen in 2008…

After a planned complete booze-up on a beautiful spring evening, the members of a few bands from the area found themselves sitting on a table the next day. Reconstructing the tangled talks and confusing ideas of the rough night wasn’t easy at all and really time consuming. One point, however, was immediately clear to all: one had actually decided to start a thrash band. At this point, there was no way back!

So it was that the said band members met one evening in the rehearsal room. After the decision who is going to torture which instrument, the jam session began and a few songs were being played. At the same evening the first song was written with the appropriate title “The End”.

Now what was missing was an identification for the group, therefore, a band name had to be found. After a short period of consideration and numerous unusable and sometimes even questionable suggestions, the name CONSTRAINT was mentioned. This name was acceptable to everyone, the sense or nonsense of this decision is not being judged here.

In 2009 CONSTRAINT played their first concert. In 2014 and numerous concerts later the board of administration decided unanimously that the time had come to record the first album.
In February 2015 it was time. The studio for the recordings was quickly found. The journey went to Bühne (GER) to the “Stage One Studio” which belongs to the producer Andy Classen. Well known bands like Legion of the Damned, Graveworm, Violator etc. recorded their albums there. Thanks to the professional support of Andy Classen the recordings were successful and everyone was excited about the result.

In September 2015 the release party was held at a sold-out concert in Frutigen.

Currently new material is already being written which should result in a new album in 2018. In addiction, the planning for a big tour with shows in various countries is running.
