Formed in Riipi, Finland in November 2005 under the name HarroW by Vesa Puunuvaara (Drums) and Lassi Lintula (Guitar). Mainly cover songs from band like Metallica and Iron Maiden and few own song basis. Music style back then more like heavy metal.
In May 2006, Juha Kemppainen (Vocals) and Juha-Pekka Mikkola (Lead guitar) joined the band, extending music style closer to bands like Sentenced and Amorphis. Still bassist slot was vacant.
NorthWind and first demo (2006-2007)
When Juha and Juha-Pekka joined they decided to change the band name to NorthWind.
Shortly after that, Juha-Pekka departed, now they needed to find lead guitarist too.
In November 2006 line-up was finally complete when childhood friends Joona Riipi (Lead guitar) and Tony Tenoluoto (Bass) joined the band. Music became heavier and got more thrash metal influence.
In 2007 first demo “Northwind” was released, with total of five songs in it. It was recorded in MR-Studio, which they have used in every album to present day. They played their first gig in local school live music evening.
TreaTmenT and finding their genre (2008-2011)
in 2008 they noticed, that NorthWind band already existed, so they had to come up with a new name.
They finally came up with a good and easy name to remember, TreaTmenT was born. “Mental Distraction” EP was released, pushing them more and more to thrash metal, getting influences from the bands like Kreator and Annihilator. Same year band moved from Riipi to Sodankylä, where they all were in school.
In 2009 Juha, Lassi and Vesa went to the army, which slowed training and song making.
In 2010 they were back in action and released “Life as we know it” demo and year later in 2011, “Schizophrenic” demo, which contained little progressive elements, showing the path to their evolving music style.
Verdict and departure (2012-2014)
In 2012 TreaTmenT went back to MR-Studio to record next demo “Verdict”, which was then mixed and mastered by DropHammer Studios. This time band moved to Rovaniemi, where most of them lived and gig options were bigger.
“Verdict” songs were included in “The Northest Thrash Assault”-split w/ Overtake and Home Style Surgery.
In 2013, TreaTmenT was going back to MR-Studio but right before that, band had to make the hardest decision in their history! Guitarist and co-founder Lassi Lintula had to be dropped off from the line-up… Now in the middle of recording their upcoming album, they were searching for a new guitarist. Album was recorded by remaining members, Joona recording all guitar parts.
Luckily on short notice they found a replacement for Lassi. Jani Nurmela (Segmentum), joined the band.
But just less than year from that, Jani left the band due lack of time to the band. At that point, TreaTmenT decided to continue as a quartet.
Quartet and No Way Out (2015-2016)
Album was recorded, Juha, Joona, Tony and Vesa dedicated the following times for hard training to tighten their playing. In 2015 “No Way Out” was released. The album was mixed and mastered by Niko Hyvönen. Band toured in Lapland, from Oulu to Inari to promote “No Way Out”. During the tour, band visited in Radio Inari to make an interview.
In 2016 more sad news were coming, Tony wanted go on hiatus… After six months it seemed like, Tony won´t be coming back, so they had to start looking for a replacement. Materials for the new album, full 60-minutes, were in the making process, but that slowed down, when searching for a new bassist.
Current line-up and Sagacity (2017-)
New bass player was found close, childhood friend, Joona´s older brother Jarno Riipi (Overtake), joined the band. He was everything the band had always been searching for. New upcoming album material started to get new shape, pushing them even deeper into making more progressive songs. Debut gig with Jarno they played on January 2018 in Oulu.
Recording the upcoming album started in June 2018, once again in MR-Studios, which was now known as Studio RiiVox.
At the end of year 2018 everything were recorded. Mixing and mastering started in January 2019, once again by Niko Hyvönen.

On february upcoming album´s name was published, "Sagacity".
