Mikael Erlandsson, from Gothenburg, is one of the best ingers/songwriters in Sweden today. He recorded four successful solo albums and after being supporting act to Tina Turner and Brian Ferry and after the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, Mikael decided he wanted to do something else.
His Japanese record company came up with the idea of putting him together with the fantastic guitar player Andy Malecek from the successfull German hard rock band Fair Warning for an album project.
Mikael and Andy were both hooked by the idea and a plan for the album began to grow.
Ian Haugland, Mic Michaeli and John Leven of Europe-fame were asked if they were interested to join, which they did and the band LAST AUTUMN'S DREAM comes to life!
Their self titled debut album (2004) resembles the best Scandinavian melodic rock heritage, but also adds a distinctive Fair Warning influence coming from Malecek guitar playing and songwriting.
The band loses 3/5's of their members due to the comeback of Europe. On their second effort "II" (2005) founders Mikael and Andy are joined by three great musicians to keep the dream alive: bassist Marcel Jacob (Talisman), drummer Jamie Borger (Talisman, Treat) and keyboarder Thomas Lassar (Crystal Blue). Thomas also took part as a songwriter, on the debut album.
The third chapter "Winter in Paradise" (2006) sees the confirmation of the previous line-up, except for Thomas, and proposes the combination of classic rock references with some more modern sound.
In their forth album entitled “Saturn Skyline” (2007), the band shows once again how to make it up there to the top bands of the genre. Always in 2007, the band released their first greatest hits album "Impressions: The Very Best of LAD", an exclusive release for Japan.
During summer, the band sets off on a Japanese tour which confirms the big enthusiasm around this top class quartet.
On September 30, the band performs at the United Forces Of Rock festival at Rockfabrik (Ludwigsburg - Germany), alongside Joe Lynn Turner, Stan Bush, White Wolf, Soul Doctor, Human Zoo and Danger Danger.
2008 sees the release of a double CD "The very best of LAD + Live in Germany". One disc contains the live recording from the “United Forces of Rock” festival in Ludwigsburg where the talented four-piece entertained a very enthusiastic audience with eight perfectly executed songs. The second disc is a “Best of” which offers plenty of great tunes that everyone would want to hear again and again. This package shortly anticipates their forthcoming fifth studio album, "Hunting Shadows", another top class album that outshines all they have done previously.
Their sixth studio album called "Dreamcatcher", released by the end of 2008 in Japan and beginning of 2009 in Europe shows, once again, the potential of these four musicans who know how to deliver excellently played music!
Now it's time to welcome "A Touch of Heaven", the seventh studio album, released for the Japanese market on December 16, 2009 and scheduled to be out in Europe on January 21, 2010.
Nalle Påhlsson (Treat, Zan Clan, Vindictiv, Therion) stepped in the band to replace the late Marcel Jacob and contribute with his talented bass playing.
