The Headless Ghost were born ideally as a tribute to Mercyful Fate and King Diamond. Aurelio Parise of Lionsoul and Alberto Bif, former bassist of the death metal band Daemoniac are looking for elements to bring the music of the legendary danes to the stage. As time passed and especially with the arrival of the pandemic, the project changed direction, unfortunately the live dimension was lost and the two musicians began to work remotely on original ideas and riffs.
Aurelio mainly deals with the music while Alberto writes a concept centered on the figure of a tormented serial killer, oppressed by the souls of his own victims and redeemed by the ghost of a little girl. Once the composition of the album and the recording of the demos were completed and after countless vicissitudes in search of professional and talented members, we arrived at the current line-up, which is completed with the arrival of Ste Vallino (Tesla Shamans) on vocals, Omar Capetti (Inverna) on drums and Simone Pesenti Gritti (Drakkar) on bass. Alberto's extreme metal heritage leads him to ask his friend Tobias Cristiansson (Entombed AD, Necrophobic, Grave) to participate as a guest on the band's single: 'King Of Pain'. Produced and mixed at Mattia Stancioiu's Elnor Studios, the work is embellished with artwork by Harley Velasquez.
