Necroart was created in 1999 by Max (aka Wound) with the intent to mix swedish death metal, some black metal and a touch of dark metal as well; the original line up (Davide Z., Davide M., Gabriele and Mattia) composed and recorded a five-tracks demo called “LET THE CARNAGE BEGIN” in late 2000 spring; the tape was really acclaimed by metalheads and magazines and was crowned as TOP DEMO in cult mag Grind Zone.
After the release Filippo replaced Mattia and Davide Q., a long time friend, joined the band as keyboard player / mastermind of effects, visuals and artworks, so the band recorded a self produced mini CD called “DEAD ROSES PARADE” with a different, more technical and melodic but also dark approach; in 2002/03 during the gigs as support to this opus and songwriting of the new one, Gabriele splitted from the band replaced by hyper technical bassist Francesco "Fox", who played for several years in historical prog metal bands and Marco joined as drummer.
With the new line up “THE OPIUM VISIONS” was released in 2003 by Officina rock, a small independent label from Parma which fell in love with the music and the dark and decadent concept of the band.
In the period from 2003 to 2009 the band played so many tours and gigs with monsters such as Entombed, Arcturus, Dark funeral, Rotting Christ and so so so many others... This gave the band a status of cult underground band and gave a great expectation to the second album “THE SUICIDAL ELITE” released by a small label and distributed by Legends of Extreme metal masterpiece; the band played again a great number of gigs and festival all along Italy but had to face the defeat of the bass player and drummer replaced by actual members Daniele and Paolo.
With this new line up in 2014 the new album called “LAMMA SABACTANI” was out via Beyond...prod. , an old style dark opus in the vein of 90's extreme wave of metal.
For a long period the band faced a great confusion period due to the defeat of Davide Q. Replaced for the fourth album by noise and drone player Franko. In 2018 “CAINO” was released by the Goatmancer/Argonauta recs. but this album had some promotional live problems and so Davide Z. and Franko left the band.
So, after a couple of years of confusion, Max took a great reunion with Davide Q. as keyboardist and Marco P. took his own place at the guitar as well. The band was finally ready to record their latest album: a monolithic example of melodic death metal with dark characteristics typical of black metal: “THE HIGHEST LAW”, released by Nova Era Records in 2023.
Due to personal commitments, the drummer Paolo decided to leave the band just after the album release, and he was replaced by the current drummer Mattia.
