Dark Secret were born on January 1999, from an idea of Calogero Piscopo's.
The premises were those of creating a death metal band that could,musically speaking, combine both the American school and that of clear European matrix.The main influences came,and still come,from masters of the genre like Death,In Flames,Dark Tranquillity,At the Gates.
In the October of the same year comes the first official demo entitled "THE HAND OF DESTINY",containing the first three songs composed by the band.This demo brought the band to sign the contract with VideoRadio Rec.,an Italian label that in 2000 published their debut album "THE FROZEN MEMORIES".After an intense promotional activity and, unfortunately, a set of changes within the members of the group...In 2003 the band publishes a new album with the title:"EVIL AND PASSION", under Calogero Piscopo's own label "Brutal Symphony Prod." that leads them to obtain the title "Best 2003 Italian Death Metal Band" on the webzine neroopaco.it.
At this time DARK SECRET are one of the best musical realities in the italian underground music scene as proven by the thousands of interviews on magazines,webzines,tv and radio,the great and pleasing reviews and the constant attention of the media on the activity of the band.On the trails of these results ,in the 2005 comes the last work "...IN DEATH...", up to now considered the best album the band has ever recorded!!! What's new in this release is the video track of the song “Double Reality", thanks to which the band is invited,in June 2006,to be guest of the live show DATABASE in the satellite tv network ROCK TV!!!This event turns DARK SECRET to an important “punto di riferimento” in the italian metal scene.
Right now the band is looking for a new contract ,a contract that will let them spread their music on a territory wider and wider capturing the attention of a number of fans that will go increasing!!!
Since the very beginning of their hystory DARK SECRET have always had, and kept intense, a live activity full of satisfactions.
Starting from 1999 participating to metal festivals in the surroundings of the towns where they live;participating in various live events of growing importance;reaching personal tours throughout the entire Italian ground and opening concerts for bands such as:ANCIENT(2001),THOTEN(2001),DISMEMBER(2004),ENTHRONED(2007)and many other italian bands of international highlight like:SECRET SPHERE,UNDERTAKERS,WHITE SKULL etc,etc.
Right now the band is planning the Italian dates for the 2007/2008 tour.
