Vade Aratro’s music is not simple (let alone to explain), but it is accessible. A furious Thrash Metal mold is tempered by
poorly digested popular melodies, epic openings, acoustic shelters, crooked phrasing and diagonal motifs. Metric and rhythmic motives, atypical structures, unconventional progressions, yet verses and refrains. Pop refrains. The Italian singer-songwriter also peeps out, in particular the elusive outsider Ivan Graziani and the angry young Edoardo Bennato. Special attention is given to the lyrics, with a great deal of documentation and research on each word to conquer a plain, simple, straightforward language, close to the spoken one and yet elitist. the reference time seems to be the Past, whether historical (from an archaic pre-Christianity to a generic pre-modern era) or personal (childhood). Even old age is always understood as an element that reflects or embodies the past. Everything is sung by a voice shamelessly true and sincere in its colors, limits and qualities, which ranges from an epic aggression to a confidential and humble tone, through broad, coarse and dense expressiveness, often enriched by refined vocal polyphonic harmonies.
