The Norwegian rock band SLAVES TO FASHION do what they want - by playing a music that is timeless and by that being the very opposite of fashionable. Their new album “Artistic Differences” is reflecting the band members’ different musical backgrounds, raging from pop, progressive rock, black metal and modern rock. Thus the four-piece mixes metal, pop and progressive rock in a shameless way, while always focusing on the shared passion for the essential ingredients in all music: great melodies and a great sound.
The band released their debut album “Crossing Over” in 2007 under the name P:O:B. But despite excellent reviews worldwide, no label could be found to push the self released album to a wider audience.
Three years later, Frank Jaeger, a German journalist and friend of the band, decided to take matters in his own hands and founded Hands Of Blue Records with one specific goal: To release the next album of what he thinks to be one of the best rock band ever to have come from Norway. The band composed ten songs that would honour the intentions and efforts from band and label alike, and everybody involved is certain that these tunes have the potential to become major hits.
Be it the song 'Mrs. Hero', which will be released a few weeks after the initial release of the album as a radio single and which could easily be a chart breaker if discovered by the right persons, or the melodic 'Superstar', or maybe even the melancholic and deep 'Out Of Here', with its haunting melody. And finally, "Artistic Differences" contains the longest track the band has ever written, and which is a little reminder of the progressive roots and tendencies among the musicians: 'Facts On The Ground'. Overall, a diverse, suspenseful and innovative album from an undergound band simply doing what they like most: writing, recording and playing live.
