The band was born in 2003 with the idea of playing a solid heavy metal, just following icons like Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and so on. The beginning live sets collected several covers of such metal gods, but they were nothing but a good training on the way to create Balrog first original songs. Between 2004 and 2005 the italian combo recorded a 4-track Demo CD with a line-up including Stefano Luoni and Andrea Tibiletti at guitars, Andrea Bossi at bass, Tommaso Colombo at drums and Corrado Capettini at vocal duties. While the guys of instrumental section were lasting - and they are still the same - the singer soon parted ways with the band, so that he was replaced by Roberto Pavesi at the beginning of 2006.
With this talented new member, Balrog played at some cool open air fests like Ottombre Fest and Rugby Varese Anniversary, increasing its metal maniac followers. By this time was recorded a metal version of the french national hymn "La Marsellaise", as requested by Rugby Varese team for their XXX anniversary compilation. During 2007 the band hit the studio again to record a 7-track EP, called "The Rise", released at the beginning of 2008. This new work showed sensibly improved techical skills with a more mature songwriting, thus getting Balrog in contact with some indie labels. Unfortunately there was another split behind the corner: Roberto Pavesi left the band shortly after the recordings so that the other guys stopped promotional work and started looking for a new singer.

By the end of the year, after some interesting auditions, the band was decided to add some aggression to its sound, so Stefano Castagna was choosed to be the new vocalist, because of his passion for extreme music and his high level studies and skills. The new album "A Dark Passage" was the result of the recording of new vocal tracks for the old songs, which were also been remastered.

With the release of the brand new studio album "Miserable Frame", the band is preparing again to storm the stages and most of all your ears!
