Secretpath band was born in summer 2008, founded by the guitarist Pierluigi “Aries” Ammirata. Since then the band had no limits in the creative process and didn’t follow any previous model of music genre. Because of that it is difficult to define the music genre and that characteristic became more important with the passing of time. in automn 2009 there are several line-up changes in the band but,
with the joining of the vocalist Paolo Ferrante, the band is ready for recording its first demo “The Choice” realized in the beginning of 2010. In this debut demo can be found the main characteristics of Secretpath band, based on extreme Metal but mainly melodic, open to any kind of influence, from gothic to operatic music (the classic music study is a distinctive trait of the band’s members). This influence can be found in the fingerpicking technique, used by the guitarist Pierluigi “Aries” Ammirata, that allows him to play poliphonic parts without overdubbing (this can be seen on the videos available in the Web spaces of the band), and in the impressive variety of vocal techniques used by the vocalist Paolo Ferrante, that goes easily from every kind of extreme technique (such as growls, scream, gurglings) to clean voices heavy-metal oriented or basso profondo from the orthodox sacred chant school, as you can listen from the third track of the demo CD “The Choice” : “Nunc Sunt Flores”. The fast and technical drum player Francesco “Storm” Borrelli, adds elements from the modern extreme Metal.
After some gigs in its region and the change of the bass-player, Secretpath band records its second demo “Wanderer” that came out in decembre 2011. This second demo is more mature then the first one and presents a more compact band and sound. The final result has been enhanced by the work of Kami “Plastik” Copat on recording and mixing (who some months later would become the new bass-player of the band), the superb work done by Fabrizio Pavia with the graphics and the excellent mastering done at Mike Jussila’s Finnvox Studios. From february 2012 the band subscribed with the Necrotorture Promotion Agency. Actually the band is playing live shows and is creating new songs that will be in the next work that will be much more better then the previous ones.
