Scarlatyna were founded 1987 in Wetzlar by Mike Stanzel (Bass), Klaus Hardt (Drums) und Daniel Horvath (Git). After the Demo-tape "The art of Metal" Daniel stopped his just beginning career and vocalist Chris Jamie Marino joined the band together with guitarist Jörg Weilinger. The Demotape "Scarlet ball" was well accepted by the audience and good reivews (f.ex. in the German Metal Hammer) were the results.

In the meanwhile the band had a 90 minutes set and played in whole Hessen (a Metal desert like Minnesota in the US.). The band had new ideas about involving a keyboard in their musical intention. In that times a keyboarder was something not well accepted from the narrow minded parts of the Metal audience but in the end the band found their own style and after playing new songs in the studio which were again reviewed very well from journalists (Heavy mag), the band played gigs in all parts of Germany.

In the midninetees Grunge (maybe some of you will remember this useless music style) was state of the art and so the band fighted a hard fight loosing in the end. In 2011 there were rumors for a reformation, but by now you can listen to a very interesting powerful German 80s Metal album which sadly never saw the light of day before.

Scarlatyna are currently working on new material.
