The progressive power metal of Order of Nine has been a driving force in the resurgence of True Metal and in the continuing saga of Heavy Metal. Formed in 1997 from the ashes of a once might Pittsburgh metal scene, Order of Nine, under the name Templar, launced its career with the release of “A Touch of Winter’s Discontent” on Hellion Records.
The debut was received with open arms the world ove, thus establishing the band as a constant on the return path of heavy metal to the mainstream.
A couple years of continuous rehearsal, several compilations singles, and a thickening of the blood from the road brought the band
to a turning point.
In 2001 the full length cd “Of Once and Future Kings” was recorded.
This second offering of pure power metal broght not only the maturity of the band to the masses, but the new moniker Order of Nine! Of Once and Future Kings secured Order of Nine a distribution deal through Progressive Metal heavyweight Nightmare Records.
While Continuing to rehearse and tour, Order of Nine, with the guidance of Mars Recording Studio owner and Gold Record producer, Bill Korecky, completed 2005′s album Season of Reign.
On the power of the bands third worldwide release, and with the support of Nightmare Records, Order of Nine left the familiar lands of the States to take their brand of metal to the European motherland of HEAVY METAL!
Taking the name from the nine knights that formed most cohesive military order in the history of man, Order of Nine has weathered many storms, traveled near and far, and has pleased thousands of hungry metal heads in times when power metal was presumed dead. With the surge of interest in True Heavy Metal, and the dying off of the New Metal wave, Order of Nine is prepared to deliver!
In the winter of 2007, Order of Nine set about to record their latest metal compendium-A Means To Know End scheduled for worldwide release on Nightmare Records and affiliated labels.
A Means To Know End brings the most diversity the band has recorded to date. With the continued collaboration of Bill Korecky, Order of Nine’s new full length cd showcases not only the talent of the band, but their pure love of all genres of Heavy Metal!
Michael DeGrena, Tom Donaldson, Scott Haggerty, Steve Pollick, and J.R. Jameson will take Order of Nine back to the masses in 08. On the wave that comes from their most innovative and technically proficient full length to dat, Order of Nine returns.
