Louis Comfort-Wiggett - ex Bronco Bullfrog, master of the bass guitar and harmony vocals,
Bill Darlington - skinsman extraordinaire
Johnny Gorilla - fret mangler and singer/screamer of Gorilla infamy - they've all got it in fer me!!
They all live in Hastings on the South Coast of Olde Englande Towne... WOW!!!

Head Drude Julian Cope described the Shovell as 'proto-metal' likening them to Dust, Emerge era The Litter and NYCity underground supremo's Sir Lord Baltimore - high praise indeed!

These guys ain't no 'classic rock' revivalist's (who ever coined that 'classic rock' genre should be fuckin' shot!!!). They play with a passion and more 'fuck you' attitude than Black Flag, the Pink Fairies and the MC5 rolled together. But this ain't no inept punk rock maaaaan........ this is heavy rockin' attitood, concerned with the brutal honesty of playing what yer true to with sincerity and honesty, regardless of what's meant to be hip or trendy - and I ain't talkin' popular hip n trendy, coz we all know that hip and trendy fashion exists just as much in the supposed 'hip' underground worlds just as much as in them overground ones.

What we're talkin' here is honest, fun, sincere heavy music that couldn't give a fuck what year it is or what YOU wear. If these guys are trying to revive anything, it's the the long lost idea that music should be from the heart and soul, exciting, inspiring, energized, amazing and most of all FUN!!! Remember when music was like that??? huh??? do ya??? They do. It's pure escapist entertainment with it's feet firmly planted in grim reality, which is what, if we're being honest here, is what all good music is all about. Fuck the bill's, jobs, relationship's and all that shit - have a drink, drop a pill, smoke a joint, or don't, dig the music, nod yer head and lose yerself in this shit - you'll feel a whole lot better for it!
