X-Ray Life was created in the late 2011 by the singer and composer Mattia Briggi. The band's line-up is completed with some musicians known in other musical projects: the rhythm section, consisting of Matteo Boranga (drums) and Matteo Rugliancich (bass), is joined by the guitars of Corrado Ricucci and Giovanni Zanardo. The sound of this new project has its stylistic references in american alternative rock, from the most classical hard-rock to the 90's grunge violence, with an alternation of power rhythms, heavy guitars and melodic choruses. A couple of months after its birth, the band ranks second at “Happy Days Rock Battle” (Fiesse, Brescia, Italy) organized by the indipendent label Atomic Stuff, and partecipates in the "All We Need" compilation promoted by Radio-Utopia.
