Since My Soliloquy’s inception in 2002, originally just called ‘soliloquy’] Pete Morten has been successfully developing his unique brand of progressive rock/metal. in a genre too often defined by many bands adopting the same prog metal template, My Soliloquy offer an original and somewhat quirky take on tried and tested formulas.

From their humble beginnings; The Creative Principle 2003, Lateral thinking 2005Esoterica 2007 to their stunning debut album ‘The interpreter’, My Soliloquy have had many successes in their relatively underground career. Most notable are shows with Pagans Mind, Power Quest, Oliver and Rick Wakeman, and Threshold. Plus a second-to-headline set at Bloodstock 05 and a showcase at 2007’s Progpower UK II.

The band even had the unusual honour of appearing in one of Robert Rankin’s novels ‘The Witches of Chiswick’. the internationally renowned comedy/fantasy author placed the band in a fictional venue where the Beatles apparently had originally honed their talents before finding fame and fortune. Robert was so taken with the band after watching them perform at his charity event, he said “what can i say about Soliloquy, i’d like to manage them. this band can really play.
They are definitely going places”

Added to this, are a film soundtrack appearance for English independent film ‘Retribution’ in 2005, and an acoustic set live on BBC radio that same year, plus countless other radio airplay and interviews worldwide.
Pete Morten in particular is proving to be quite a prolific artist in his own right. in 2007 he joined prog metal greats Threshold as a hired gun for their Dead Reckoning tour and has since joined the band officially. both writing for and playing on their latest masterpiece ‘March of Progress’

He is also the lead singer for Nightmare World and having already recorded promo e.p. ‘No Regrets’ with the band in 2009, is currently finishing vocals for their debut album. he’s also toured extensively fronting other UK metal band Metalloid since 2007.
Pete’s also recorded extensive backing vocals on Clive Nolans album ‘she’ with band caarmora and appeared as a guest singer on Neverborne’s e.p. ‘Abscence of Fear. over the years, Pete’s had many other offers to front bands both in the UK and overseas!.

Having survived line-up changes Pete Morten’s My Soliloquy can now look forward to a bright future with the release of their forthcoming debut album ‘The Interpreter’ in 2013 on Sensory Records [a division of the laser group] in America and Europe.
