In 2008, five guys, with some years of experience in the underground metal music, decided to start a new, different project. In this way, the band As The Sun was born.The musical proposal is a little different from the mainstream tendences, substantially it’s melodic death metal, with swedish and american influences, very fast, very hard, very intense. The band called it “Swedcore”. Probably it’s not a new genre at all, but it explains pretty good the idea.In late 2008, As The Sun recorded a mini cd of six tracks called “Foundations” at the “Hatestudio” in Vicenza, Italy. The record gained many positive reviews, from italian and international magazines and webzines. The band started to be appreciated in the italian underground panorama, expecially due to a high and intense quality of their live performances. Ale, Cesco, Ema, Cinci and Fabio, these were the members, reached together such a level of harmony and completeness, that in middle 2010 they decided to start composing a new record, this time a full lenght.Unfortunately, in the end of 2010, Ema decided to leave the band. Even if it was a decision took together, for the band it was a blow to stand this departure. For more than a year, the band remained with only four members. They tried many potential new guitarists, but none of them seemed to be the right person.In January 2011 the answer arrived, ultimate and clear. Dario, also lead guitarist of other important underground bands in the italian scene, joined the band. It was an explosive blending. In a few months, the band prepared some live shows, with great results.In late 2011, As The Sun decided to dedicate an exclusive period only to compose and create new stuff.Towards the end of 2011 and the early months of 2012, the new album took its form.It’s a concept album, 11 tracks that speak about an allegoric journey between stars and galaxies, a huge metaphor about the duality of life and death, time and space, finite and infinite.In relation with “Foundations” the new album is thousands times more varied. More fast, intricate, furious, straight to the point, it’s like a flood. But also more melodic, and emotional, with moments of deep quietness.It’s a real journey, an experience that brings the listener outside his current dimension.It’s a journey looking for the very limit of the universe and the human condition.Event Horizon was recorded between July and October 2012 at the “Fear Studio” in Ravenna, Italy. It had been a huge work, beyond every expectation. The band spent time and energies, without rest, with passion and dedication. The result pays back everything.The band is now looking for live shows and a good promotion and distribution. 2013 will be the year of the Sun.
