The Zirkus der Zeit project started in 2009 in Genoa with the collaboration between Lorenzo Vite (former member of Biogora, Pc programming, bass & guitar) and Zeffira (vocals & lyrics) aimed at blending into a single style their different artistic and musical influences. This is exemplified in their debut album To Kill A Mocking Bird , which features sudden shifts from electronic soundings to prog, industrial trip hop and metal elements, all of that held together by a golden thread of dark, sometimes outrageously dramatic ambiances.
The lyrics deal with bizarre realities which sometimes conceal a kernel of truth, stories which may, alternatingly, sound like nightmares or remind one of the look of daily life, combined with a consistent touch of ironic introspection and strong colors.
The project draws inspiration from a variety of sources, first and foremost King Crimson, NIN, Mr. Bungle as well as many others, whose influence is apparent the moment one listens to these songs.
