Pessimist was founded in a pub in Weil am Rhein by Michael "TZ" Schweitzer, Patrick "Peppi" Pfefferle and Robin Maurer in the summer of 2006.

Shortly afterwards Severin "Sevi" Wössner and Raphael "Zagge" Gamboni join the band and the band moves into their first rehearsal room in Weil am Rhein.

Later the band released two more albums: "Death from above" in 2013 and "Holdout" in 2020.
