Murmur was created in the summer of 2007 by Matthias Vogels and Cory Vande Velden. Together Matthias and Cory wrote and recorded Murmur's first album "Mainlining the Lugubrious" during the winter of 2007-2008. "Mainlining the Lugubrious" has fallen victim to a variety of poor circumstances and has been awaiting release for over 2 years. The album is scheduled for release through Inferna Profundus Records in June, 2010. Murmur has gone under a drastic change in direction since spring 2008 when Matthias teamed up with Shane Prendiville and Charlie Werber of Minneapolis' highly gifted 3 piece prog outfit Guzzlemug. Going from more traditional Black Metal to a mess of Noise/Black Metal & Jazz/Prog influenced improvisations. It was at this point Murmur evolved more into what Matthias had envisioned. The three musicians have been collaborating since and have already recorded what will be Murmur's second album. Murmur is currently seeking a label to release part II sometime in 2011.
