Since 1999, BATTLESWORD hold the flag of melodic death metal on the Lower Rhine high.
With a powerful live performance and powerful songs, the fiver regularly provides extensive neck pain for the fans. Since the existence of the band a total of two demos and two albums have been released.
For the preparation of the second album Battlesword took a bit longer than usual, but in 2015 the recordings and the mix for the long awaited new album BANNERS OF DESTRUCTION could be completed.
The new album shows BATTLESWORD again in its old strength and the record convinces old and new fans alike. The songwriting this time was paid attention to the fact that the music is a bit more variable than at the beginning of the song and adds some classic heavy metal elements.
Their live qualities have allowed the band to perform at various festivals, such as 2017 at the Metaldays Open Air in Slovenia, or the Indoor Festival Battle of Otzenhausen and concerts, ia. as support for bands like Moonsorrow, Thyrfing, Suidakra, Warpath or Debauchery.
The year 2018 will continue to be marked by creativity for BATTLESWORD. In addition to a re-appearance at the Metaldays Open Air or the Metal Inferno in Paderborn as support for Grave and Holy Moses, is the songwriting for a new album.
In the year 2019, the band's 20th anniversary, it's time to release their fifth album "And Death Cometh Upon Us"
Battlesword in 2022 have released their fourth lp called "Towards the Unknown" via MDD Records.
