Eternal Silence is an Italian symphonic metal band formed in Varese in 2008. Their sound combines powerful guitar riffs, a thunderous rhytmic section, catchy melodies and bombastic orchestral tracks. This instrumental basis backs up two vocalists: Marika Vanni, as female lead singer, and Alberto Cassina, as guitarist, male singer and main composer. The current line-up is completed by Alessio Sessa on the bass guitar, Andrea Zannin on the drums and Enzo Criscuolo as solo guitarist.
After some years spent playing cover songs from the most important symphonic metal bands, they finally started writing their own music, composing a discography consisting in two albums, “Raw Poetry” (2013) and “Chasing Chimera” (2015), released for Underground Symphony Records, and a third album, “Mastermind Tyranny” (2017), released for Sliptrik Records/AUSR Records. They also took part in a tribute album to the metal band Heavy Load, “Tales of the Northern Swords” (2014), covering the song “Stronger than Evil”.
During these years the band played many shows: the most important ones are the Under Dark Moon Fest in Czech Republic and an acoustic show opening for Timo Kotipelto and Jani Liimatainen acoustic duo.
2018 has been so far the most important year for the band, which attended many shows, including several abroad (Germany, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic and Hungary) opening for Temperance, and two big shows in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) supporting Therion. The band also took part in a European tour supporting Haggard and Sound Storm (Austria, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Italy).
At the end of the year Eternal Silence released a brand new digital EP called “Metamorphosis 2008-2018”, for Sliptrick Records, celebrating the first 10 years of the band. In 2021, the new album "Timegate Anathema" is out via Rockshots Records.
