Kirk was born during the second half of the nineties by singer Thomi Rauch and guitar player Sammy Lasagni. They quickly discovered talented and eager comrades-in-arms with Daniel Pfister (Bass), Bruno Berger (Keys) and Vito Cecere (Drums).
The Band released their debut album “The Final Dance” via Point Music in 2003. The album was well received, especially, not only in Europe and North America, but also in Japan where it entered into the import charts of the renowned magazine Kerrrang. Using the critical and commercial acclaim as a stepping stone, Kirk toured Europe, sharing the stages with the likes of Doro, Pink Cream 69, Axxis and Shakra. When drummer Vito Cecere was forced to leave Kirk due to health issues, and with various band members by then involved in side projects, it was decided to – at least temporarily – suspend touring and recording. The individual members became involved with several successful projects such as Decent Disaster with whom singer Thomi Rauch made the album “The Empire”. The most successful of the bunch surely Sammy Lasagni who joined Godiva with whom he recorded three triumphant albums between 2001 and 2007, the last one, “Destruction” also appearing on the Mausoleum Records label.
In 2010 Kirk got together again, with drummer Philipp Eichenberger from Legenda Aurea, to replace Vito Cecere. Drawing from a decade of honed skills and experience garnered as members of various internationally successful recording and touring outfits, Kirk rapidly morphed into a powerful melodic hard rocking monster. The writing came easy also, melodies flowed, riffs crunched and about a year later Kirk were ready, willing and able to enter the studio to record a brand-new album. They solicited the expert guidance of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic, Khymera), also the producer of Angra, Eden’s Curse, Godiva, Krokus, and countless more, including Kirk’s debut album, over a decade ago. The resulting album, entitled “Masquerade” will be released worldwide on the legendary heavy metal label Mausoleum Records, the perfect home for Kirk’s brand of precious harmonious metal.
