The Syne project was born in 2010 from the mind of Fabio “FaZ” Marchisio.

The purpose of this project is to join different influences into something organic in order to express different feelings and moods.

The name SYNE takes place from this concept because is the abbreviation of SYNESTHESIA, a neurologically-based condition in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.

Peculiarity of this project is the use of non-standard open guitar tunings and the use of 432hz instead of the conventional 440 to tune the instruments. This is because the 432 hz intonation allows the instruments to achieve much more breath and much more harmonics compared to the 440hz intonation.

The main influeces have their roots in the 70's prog rock, in the modern sounds of artists such Tool, Opeth and Porcupine Tree combined with melodies derives from artists such U2. In spring 2010 they recorded an EP of 3 songs, selftitled and totally self produced.

In January 2012 the band released their debut album called “Boundaries of Hope”, produced by Inshaine Productions.
