The heavy metal project today is known as Savage Machine was originally born as Momentum, back in 2010 in the town of Aarhus, Denmark. Former bandmates guitarist Jacob Bruun and drummer Martin Helbo decided to explore the path of their childhood heroes of heavy metal. Their shared love for NWOBHV inspired the two to lead the band in this direction. Benjamin and Troels soon joined, and a half year later Simon joined for rhythm guitar.
Savage Machine preformed three years under the name Momentum at venues across Denmark and released a Demo “Seize The Night”, recorded at Death Island Studios and a second five track EP entitled “A World In Ruins” recorded in what would become a second home to the them, Dead Rat studio. Following the release of “A World In Ruins” the interest in the band - nationally and globally - grew resulting in air time in both Hungary and Brazil and additionally receiving worldwide good reviews.
In the late 2013 during the recording of “Throughe The Iron Forest” the change to Savage Machine was decided. This decision resulted from confusion with other bands of similar name as well as the addition of a new bassist. Despite the new name and lineup, Savage Machine still delivers Old School Heavy Metal, that is both true the legacy but also relevant in present. Early reviews of the single “Prisoners Of War” and of the EP “Through The Iron Forest” have excited fans of Heavy Metal and reviewers, receiving 8/10 in most reviews.
Late in 2014 Nils Pedersen, the new bass player left the band. The reasen is described as musical differences. For now the band doesn’t have a new bass player. Benjamin who’s plans of moving to Norway was cancelled stepped in and took his old place in front of the bass stack. At this time he is not a permanent member but helps write new material and perform at live concerts.
In the summer 2015, Savage Machine won the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle Denmark, and as such got a chance to play at germany’s legendary festival Wacken Open Air. This resulted in a 5th place out of 28 heavy Nations.
Savage Machine has also had the pleasure of supporting bigger bands such as Artillery, DragonForce and are now hungry for more.
In the summer 2015, two new songs were recorded, ultimately with the goal of attracting partners to release a full length album.
The upcoming album will be the band’s third release and recent alliance with producer legend Tommy Hansen of Jailhouse Studious, who previously worked with i.e Pretty Maids & Helloween, it is destined to be majestic.
