Anno 2009. The mainstream death metal scenario is a swamp of boring and pretentious music trap, where the overproduction hype and the general lame attitude seem to kill every day more the soul of a music genre that has eventually chosen to dwell in the underground again.....
Rome, Italy. A strong music devotion and sheer passion towards a raw, straight and sick sound, push the needs of Andrea “Corpse” Cipolla (mastermind behind Corpsefucking Art and Despise The Sun Records) and Antonio Poletti (previously guitarist in Novembre and Ghouls) to create a death metal band that would have enough ingredients to let this music style smell of ancient feeling again. Soon Mirko “Offender” Scarpa (vocalist in VII Arcano and Throat Violence) joins for the growling duties.....
While putting together ideas for songs, the band decides to get baptized as MORBO, as the word itself perfectly fits in the shape of this newborn old school death metal thirsty creature. Autopsy, Necrophagia, Possessed, Master, Death, Rigor Mortis, Nihilist/Entombed, Repulsion, Sadistic Intent, Massacre, H.P. Lovecraft, L. Fulci, J. Buttgereit, real life and myths, abnormalities, religion’s cancerous ways, oppression, subconscious, iconoclasm, obsession, frustration, subliminal horrors, society, depravity and decadence are the factors that lead MORBO in writing music.
During the the fall of 2012 Morbo start the recording sessions for the 1st full length album, supposedly to be called "ADDICTION TO MUSICKAL DISSECTION”.
2014. After months of work in three different studios (between Italy and Norway), MORBO's debut album is finally scheduled to be released in April by three different labels for each format: Memento Mori from Spain (CD), Demonhood Prod. from Norway (LP) and Terror From Hell from Italy (TAPE). "ADDICTION TO MUSICKAL DISSECTION” features 8 songs of classic, intense, poser-ripping, dark and in-your-face old school death metal forged for the sake of the genre's longevity.
In 2016 a new release is scheduled sometime during summer/fall of the same year. 2 brandnew tracks ("Cross Tormentor" and "Per Legem Mortuorum") will be featured on a limited split 7" with longtime band comrades BUNKER 66. The new songs appearing on the "INTO THE MORBID BUNKER" single show how MORBO's songwriting hasn't softened and still sticks to the Ancient Death Metal Cult they are devoted since the beginning.
