Being founded back in 1995, Secrets of the Moon are amongst the longest-serving Black Metal bands in Germany.
They have been giving fresh impetus to the scene with every new release ever since, consolidating their reputation as an influential and style-defining band.

After various demos and a debut album "Stronghold of the Inviolables“ (2001), the ground-breaking "Carved in stigmata Wounds“ was released in 2004, additionally serving as the first release on the Prophecy Productions sub-label, Lupus Lounge. "Antithesis“ (2006) and "Privilegivm“ (2009) saw Secrets of the Moon mastering their very own musical form of expression, and they never realised this form in a more captivating and touching manner than on their fifth full-length release, "Seven Bells“ (2012).

Now in 2015 the band’s sixth album "Sun“ is about to hit the streets this coming autumn followed by a run of intense live-shows in Europe & beyond.

On their seventh full-length "Black House", Secrets of the Moon offer us a re-invented version of their pristinely sinister rock music. Reunited with founding member Lars Plegge (Daevas), the Germans further explore the path taken on critically acclaimed predecessor "Sun" (ranked by opinion-forming German magazine Rock Hard among the key albums of the new millennium), serving nothing and no one, only their songs.

While the material on "Sun" seemed like relentless, emotional outbreaks exploring new worlds, "Black House" bursts with self-confidence and gets closer to the point with well-composed, catchy tunes of subtle movement, blackened grace and furious elegance. The result is a unique blend of styles one fails to pay full justice to with tags such as "goth rock" and "post punk" or references to Alice In Chains, Tiamat's "Wildhoney"-era and Fields Of The Nephilim.
