Methodica is a rock progressive band formed in 1995 by four musicians (Paolo "Pekia" Pesavento guitar, Marco Piccoli drums, Alessandro Brusco bass and Riccardo dal Zovo keyboards), coming from other rock metal bands, united by the desire to experiment something particular and different from the usual hard rock music heard around. Since the early days the band writes original and exclusively instrumental material, that is performed at the first gigs; a short time later a vocalist joins the band.
In 1998 comes the recording of the first demo, simply titled “Methodica”, self-produced by the band; the demo includes songs with both English and Italian lyrics, all written by the five musicians. After a couple of years of work, there’s an artistic stop, caused by the defection in various moments of some members in the line-up, replaced by other musicians. Marco Baschera is the new keayboard-player, then comes the new vocalist Massimo Piubelli. The new guitar player becomes harder to find, various musicans come and go.
In 2002, with a new line-up, the band gets in action again, exclusively working on the composition of original songs in English. After a period of rehearsal, the gigs in the clubs begin again, and the guys play all the new songs, but on 15th July 2004, drum-player Marco has a motorbike accident (and consequent amputation of the left foot) and works must be interrupted; during the following months, waiting for Marco’s comeback, new songs are composed. All the guys decide unanimously to restart playing live again only after his recovery.
In 2005 a titleless four-track demo is recorded for clubs promotion. In september 2006 there is another change in the line-up: Marco Ciscato is the new guitar player, and he quickly gets in tune with the rest of the band. In 2007, after a period of rehearsal, the live activity starts again.
At the end of 2007 the band begins the recording sessions for the first real studio album. The record, containing 7 songs, is titled “Searching For Reflections”; recorded at Opal Arts Studio and produced by Fabio Serra, it is completed and mastered at the end of 2008. Some labels are interested at the work, and in March 2009 Methodica finally sign with Underground Symphony for publishing and distribution.
The 2nd album, "The Silence of Wisdom", comes out in 2015.
Recorded, mixed and produced at Industrial Studio, Verona, and mastered at Systematic Productions Studios, Melbourne, Australia, "Clockworks", the third full-length from Methodica.
