Illogicist, is a musical project which was formed with a specific aim: to transpose into music a particular vision of reality and its associated emotions. The creative journey of the band interweaves with a vision of life full of suffering and questions without answers, elements which are essential for a musical proposal which is made up of rhythmic asymmetry, melodic dissonance and violent sound, its pivotal elements.
Illogicist was formed in Aosta, Italy, in the summer of 1997 by guitarist Luca Minieri and drummer Remy Curtaz. Shortly afterwards bassist Roberto Zeppa and guitarist Fabio Filippone joined the band with whom the first demo entitled “Polymorphism of Death” was released in 2002. Following this release, Roberto Zeppa and Fabio Filippone left the group and were replaced by Diego Ambrosi on guitar and Emilio Dattolo on bass, both of whom strengthened and brought stability to the band. In 2003 this line up released a new demo entitled “Dissonant Perspectives”.
After a long promotional tour on the Italian underground scene, in 2004 Illogicist released their first album “Subjected” on the American label Crash Music Inc. After new drummer, Sergio Ponti was brought in, the band took off for a tour in Italy and Europe. At the end of the tour, Illogicist recorded the “Promo 2006” thanks to which they landed a new record deal with the American label Willowtip Records, through whom they released their second album “The Insight Eye” in 2007, an album on which the drums were brought to the foreground by the excellent performance of the talented Marco Minnemann (Kreator, Necrophagist, Marco Ferrigno, Ephel Duath). The Insight Eye was distributed in America by Willowtip Records and in Europe by the major, Candlelight Records (Obituary, Emperor, Crowbar etc).
